Noite e dia
Noite e dia propone una reflexión sobre la fragmentación como estrategia compositiva y sobre cómo la imagen puede construirse no desde la unidad del cuadro, sino desde el conjunto de fragmentos que dialogan entre sí. El proyecto parte de una selección de fotografías tomadas en la región portuguesa de Portimão, centradas en la vegetación y en estructuras orgánicas complejas.
Noite e dia proposes a reflection on fragmentation as a compositional strategy and on how the image can be constructed not from the unity of the painting, but from the set of fragments that dialogue with each other. The project starts from a selection of photographs taken in the Portuguese region of Portimão, centered on vegetation and complex organic structures.
El resultado son piezas impresas que, posteriormente, fueron intervenidas pictóricamente mediante acrílico, veladuras y barnices, generando variaciones constantes entre lo abstracto y lo figurativo, entre lo fotográfico y lo pictórico. Cada módulo funciona como célula autónoma, pero encuentra sentido solo en relación con los demás, componiendo un orden visual basado en la consonancia: ritmo, color y contraste actúan como fuerzas de cohesión.
El proyecto, desarrollado en el marco del V Simposio Internacional de Pintura de Portimão (2025), se inserta en un espacio de diálogo colectivo y experimental, y plantea una lectura del paisaje como construcción híbrida, material y digital al mismo tiempo. El encuentro reunió a ocho artistas internacionales en el Museo de Portimão para reflexionar colectivamente sobre el paisaje y la sostenibilidad. En este contexto, Noite e dia se presentó no solo como una propuesta individual, sino como parte de un laboratorio compartido, donde la producción artística fue abierta al público y se concibió como un proceso en diálogo. La exposición final en el Foro del Museo mostró los resultados de estas jornadas, subrayando cómo la obra se inscribe en un debate contemporáneo sobre la relación entre arte, naturaleza y las huellas de la acción humana.

The result are printed pieces that, subsequently, were pictorially intervened through acrylic, glazes and varnishes, generating constant variations between the abstract and the figurative, between the photographic and the pictorial. Each module functions as an autonomous cell, but finds meaning only in relation to the others, composing a visual order based on consonance: rhythm, color and contrast act as forces of cohesion.
The project, developed within the framework of the V International Symposium of Painting of Portimão (2025), is inserted in a space of collective and experimental dialogue, and poses a reading of the landscape as a hybrid construction, material and digital at the same time. The meeting brought together eight international artists in the Museum of Portimão to collectively reflect on the landscape and sustainability. In this context, Noite e dia was presented not only as an individual proposal, but as part of a shared laboratory, where artistic production was open to the public and was conceived as a process in dialogue. The final exhibition in the Forum of the Museum showed the results of these days, underscoring how the work is inscribed in a contemporary debate on the relationship between art, nature and the traces of human action.
