Garden of Joy
Garden of Joy se desarrolla como una obra de carácter experimental y, al mismo tiempo, con un sentido celebrativo. Concebida como una felicitación navideña para el Departamento de Pintura de la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Granada, la serie parte de la observación cotidiana de elementos vinculados a la festividad. A partir de un archivo fotográfico de motivos navideños recolectados en el entorno, se seleccionó una planta representativa que se convirtió en eje visual del proyecto.
Garden of Joy unfolds as a work of an experimental nature and, at the same time, with a celebratory intent. Conceived as a Christmas greeting for the Department of Painting of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Granada, the series starts from the everyday observation of elements linked to the festivity. From a photographic archive of Christmas motifs collected in the surrounding area, a representative plant was selected that became the visual axis of the project.
El proceso técnico consistió en la preparación de la imagen en Photoshop e Illustrator, donde se definieron los canales de color para la impresión en risografía. Se eligieron tintas verde, rojo y negro, colores cargados de simbolismo navideño, que al superponerse sobre el papel generan texturas, mezclas visuales y ligeros desajustes propios de la técnica. El resultado es una pieza que condensa lo festivo y lo matérico, oscilando entre lo gráfico y pictórico de la mancha de color.
En su formato reducido, cercano al de una tarjeta, la obra refuerza la dimensión íntima y afectiva del gesto: un jardín de alegría compartida que se ofrece como regalo visual y que, a través de una tirada de 40 ejemplares, convierte la felicitación en un acto colectivo de creación y circulación de imágenes.

The technical process consisted of preparing the image in Photoshop and Illustrator, where the color channels were defined for risograph printing. Green, red and black inks were chosen — colors loaded with Christmas symbolism — which, when superimposed on the paper, generate textures, visual mixtures and slight misregistrations typical of the technique. The result is a piece that condenses the festive and the material, oscillating between the graphic and the pictorial of the color wash.
In its reduced format, close to that of a card, the work reinforces the intimate and affective dimension of the gesture: a garden of shared joy offered as a visual gift and which, through an edition of 40 copies, turns the greeting into a collective act of creation and circulation of images.
